On September 9, 2010, the EU made its formal pronouncement on the state of the Roma people in Europe, most specifically France. The European Union threatened legal action against France for its recent Roma "repatriation" policy calling it a disgrace and comparing it to the treatment of Jews during WWII. We'll see what becomes of this. Let's hope that it's more than a slap on the wrist.
